Ballina is 10 minutes drive south of Lennox Head. It has some excellent swimming and surfing areas including Shelly Beach, Angels Beach, Lighthouse Beach and South Ballina Beach and Break Wall.

At Ballina you will find calm swimming areas more suitable for young children such as the Shelly Beach tidal pool, Missingham Beach, Shaws Bay, or you can get the Burns Point Ferry across to Mobbs Bay on South Ballina Beach Road.

There are a variety of boutiques in Ballina’s main street, and for the enthusiast, there is the Ballina Naval and Maritime Museum. Indulge in a meal at one of Ballina’s seaside cafés or pick up some fresh seafood to take back to enjoy on the Sunrise at Lennox balcony overlooking the sea.

Byron Bay is known throughout the world for its beautiful beaches, alternative living, quality shopping, award winning dining and diverse nightlife. Many national and international travellers make the trip to Byron to experience its culture and lap up the sunshine, making Byron a hub of activity and entertainment for all ages.

There is a huge range of activities in Byron Bay, from tandem hang-gliding and parachute jumps, to kayaking, surfing (or learning to surf), bike or horse-riding. Julian Rocks Marine Park is a prime SCUBA diving and snorkelling location, displaying incredible varieties of sea life where the tropical and temperate currents meet. There is a walking trail to the top of the Cape with stunning coastal views. The Cape is another excellent location for viewing whales. The shape of the Cape creates the many different surfing and swimming beaches, so you will often a range of choices to suit your fancy.

Byron is a picturesque 15 minute drive north of Lennox Head and worth the trip for an award winning meal. Byron is the place to go for nightlife, bands, pubs and clubs.
